MMCH Information

In 1962 as Mymensingh Medical College Hospital was started by the governor of Bengal of that time. Before that it was named “Lytton medical school” for LMF course. The campus shifted in Charpara present campus in 1972. Hospital building was established for 500 patients With Medicine Surgery, Gynae department

New hospital building of 500 bed was added from 2013. Which was inaugurated then Prime Minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh honorable Sheikh Hasina. The only Kalazar research center in Bangladesh is established in Surja Kanta Hospital (S.K hospital) as SKKRC from December 2012. Total numbers of authorized post for doctors are 463, doctors now working 389 , authorized post for nurse are 1114 now working 1077, other authorized post government officer and staff are 712, now working 398. They are doing excellent as a team 24/7/365 for the MMCH. Now in MMCH there are 36 department and Wards, where daily more than 3000 patients are taking treatment in indoor department. In an average more than 5000 patients take outdoor treatment in MMCH outdoor patient department. For COVID -19 Pandemic situation control, MMCH doing best in Bangladesh. We have 22 ICU (COVID-19), 43 HFNC 220 COVID 19 dedicated bed, where we gave more than 600 patients in 2020. New oxygen plant for 20,000 liter is already installed with previous 10,000 liter one. New oxygen generator has already installed which power 500 liter/min.
